A champion for our freedom.
This election is about choosing between two futures for America. We have the power to keep moving forward or move backward. Vice President Kamala Harris is a fierce defender of our freedoms who can defeat Donald Trump and give families the tools and opportunities they need to live a good life.
As Vice President, she has helped to oversee a sweeping progressive agenda, including landmark legislation that has transformed people’s lives for the better.
In the Senate, she was a forceful and outspoken leader. She challenged the corrupt Trump administration and protected our families from attacks on our freedoms.
During her time as Attorney General of California, she prosecuted corrupt CEOs and corporations to protect our freedom to get the care we need, without the fear of going bankrupt from it.
Together, we can defeat the smallest man who ever lived.
Kamala Harris IN ACTION
A leading voice on abortion. Since Roe was overturned, Harris has held dozens of events in at least 20 states across the country focused on the issue of abortion and reproductive freedoms. She made history when she became the first sitting president or vice president to visit an abortion clinic and has repeatedly called on Congress to codify Roe to protect reproductive freedoms nationally. Harris also announced the Biden-Harris administration’s efforts to protect access to medication abortions and patient privacy for individuals seeking abortions.
Fighting to bring down costs for working families. As Vice President, Harris cast the tie-breaking vote to pass the Inflation Reduction Act, which is helping to bring down costs for American families, including their energy costs and the cost of prescription drugs for seniors. She has fought to help families afford high-speed internet, to address the high cost of caregiving in the United States, to lower the costs of childcare, and to cap the cost of rent for low-income families. As a Senator, Harris introduced legislation to cut taxes for the middle class. As California’s Attorney General, she secured a $12 billion settlement from some of the country’s biggest banks and mortgage lenders who were accused of illegally foreclosing on homeowners during the 2008 financial crisis. As a presidential candidate, Harris proposed a paid family leave policy that would give new parents and caregivers up to six months of paid leave.
Investing in the economy and creating jobs. Under the Biden-Harris administration, more than 15 million jobs have been created, including nearly 800,000 manufacturing jobs. As Vice President, Harris helped pass the $1 trillion Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, engaging with lawmakers during the negotiation process at least 150 times and having some of her environmental policy from her time as Senator included in the final bill. She supported the $250 billion CHIPS & Science Act, which is investing in the American semiconductor industry and workforce. The Biden-Harris administration has also made $563 billion in infrastructure, clean energy, and semiconductor investments.
Career-long leader on gun safety. As Vice President, Harris helped pass the first gun safety laws in decades, the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, which expanded background checks, closed the “boyfriend loophole” and invested $15 billion in funding for school security and mental health. She announced the Biden-Harris administration’s rule to close the gun show loophole, led the implementation of the bill’s provision prohibiting individuals convicted of domestic violence from purchasing guns, and led the $1 billion investment into school mental health counselors. Harris also launched the first-ever national red flag law resource center in Parkland, FL after meeting with families of the victims of the Parkland shooting. As California Attorney General, she defended major gun safety laws including one lawsuit to reverse a court ruling “that loosened restrictions on the ability to carry concealed guns.”
Prioritizing racial justice. As Vice President and Senator, Harris worked to improve access to health care for Black Americans, particularly focused on Black maternal health. Harris also helped secure billions in funding to advance environmental justice and replace lead pipes across the country through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and announced the effort to address lead pipes. In April 2024, Harris announced a $20 billion effort to combat pollution and improve air quality in low-income and disadvantaged communities.
Fighting for environmental justice and taking on corporations. As Vice President, Harris cast the tie-breaking vote to pass the Inflation Reduction Act, which will provide billions in tax credits for renewable energy, tax credits for the purchase of electric vehicles, billions for the American clean energy manufacturing sector, and more. As California’s Attorney General, Harris took on Big Oil and held polluters accountable, securing $50 million in settlements with oil and gas companies who broke the law, investigating Exxon Mobil about whether it lied about the impact of climate change, and indicting the company behind the 2015 Santa Barbara oil spill. As Senator, Harris introduced environmental justice legislation and bills to protect clean air and clean water, promote electric vehicles, eliminate lead pipes, and improve drought and wildfire resilience. Several of her proposals on these issues were included in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law signed by President Biden.
Championing LGBTQ+ rights. In 2004, as District Attorney, Harris performed some of the first same-sex marriages in the country and created a hate crimes unit to investigate and prosecute violence against LGBTQ individuals. As California Attorney General, Harris refused to defend California’s ban on same-sex marriage, inaction that was “essential in delivering Californians same-sex marriage rights for good.” As Senator, Harris co-sponsored the Equality Act and “continued to staunchly support LGBTQ rights”. Harris also worked in the Biden-Harris administration as it took action to improve mental health resources for LGBTQ youth and strengthen federal employment protections for LGBTQ workers.
